Fee free transactional banking alternatives
Payroll crediting
Nurses First's unique savings accounts allow you to bank completely free of account fees, provided that you direct at least $500 per month of your pay to your Nurses First account.
That means you can make as many ATM, EFTPOS, VISA, BPAY, giroPOST, Phonelink, Netlink and Direct Debit transactions as you like, fee free! ( * Please note, there is a $1.50 per month fee for VISA debit cards - but all transactions are completely fee free).
Another benefit of payroll crediting is that it allows you to split amounts between different accounts, such as your everyday account, your loan and a savings account. This saves you having to make further transfers between your accounts.
For more information on payroll crediting call 13 25 77 to speak with a Member Services Consultant, or make an online enquiry.
Phonelink phone banking
Nurses First Phonelink is a fast, convenient and fee free banking option. Phonelink lets you transfer funds, pay bills with BPAY, obtain an account balance and check transaction details as often as you like, for free! To start using Phonelink today, call a Member Services Consultant on 13 25 77.
Netlink online banking
With Nurses First Netlink online banking you can pay bills, transfer money and check account balances and transactions at any time, as many times as you like for free!* Netlink is a fast, secure and convenient way to do your day to day banking. For more information or to register for Netlink today, call a Member Services Consultant on 13 25 77.
*A monthly fee of $0.75c applies.
BPAY
BPAY saves time and money, allowing you to pay bills wherever there's a phone or Internet access. You can use BPAY 24 hours a day to pay bills at thousands of organisations. BPAY payments are fee free, no matter how many you make, which means you save on writing cheques and paying fees like Government stamp duty and BAD tax.
You can use BPAY through Nurses First Phonelink or Netlink, which means you can pay your bills as well as check your account balances and make other transactions and enquiries, all in the one place. Payments are usually made by the next business day, and you can also arrange payments for a date up to 60 days in advance.
To start using BPAY you'll need to first register for either Phonelink or Netlink. Simply call a Member Service Consultant on 13 25 77. If you are already using these services, you can start paying bills today! Just look for the BPAY logo on your bill.
ATMs
Nurses First offers members access to any ATM, from any financial institution in Australia. If you direct at least $500 of your pay to your Nurses First Account each month, you can have unlimited free access to the entire ATM network. VISA
Nurses First VISA debit card is the ideal option for your everyday transactions. It's the perfect way to avoid transaction fees because every 'Credit' transaction you make on your VISA card, whether it be for regular purchases or bill paying, is free.
You can use your VISA card to withdraw cash from ATMs, pay for goods and services at more than 15 million retailers worldwide and pay bills over the phone. Money is withdrawn directly from your on-call savings account.
giroPOST
giroPOST allows you to access your accounts at more than 2,900 Post Offices around Australia. You can deposit cheques or cash into your account free of charge. You'll find the giroPOST symbol on most Post Offices around Australia, making it a great option for travellers and regional members. To find the nearest giroPOST outlet near you, visit the Australia Post website.
Direct debits
Direct debits are a great way to save the money and hassle involved in making regular payments to a company or other financial institution account, or transfers to your Nurses First loan or savings account.
Make a regular payment to a third party
You can give authority to a third party (e.g. a health fund) to make regular deductions from your account, to save you having to remember to make a payment. This is a fee free service. You will need to contact the company you deal with and ask them to organise direct debit from your account. Make sure you have your Member number and our BSB number (806-015) handy.
Make regular transfers to your Nurses First accounts
You can also set up a direct debit from an account held in your name(s) at any other financial institution in Australia to pay into your Nurses First loan or savings account.
To arrange this type of regular direct debit you will need to complete a Direct Debit Request form. You can then return your completed form to us via mail or fax (address and fax details are listed at the top of the form), or by visiting our branch.
To view the form left click on the 'Direct Debit Request Form' link above to view the document in your browser, or right click and choose 'save target as' to save the file to your computer.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the files. Click to download this software if you don't already have it installed.
