When you shop online, it’s important to know that your transactions are secure. To help safeguard your Nurses First VISA card when you are shopping online, register for Verified by VISA.

What is Verified by VISA?

Verified by VISA is a new service from Nurses First that will help you to enjoy more secure online shopping. It allows you to link a password and Personal Assurance Message (PAM) to your Nurses First VISA debit card or Easypay VISA credit card for shopping online. This means you will be the only person able to use your VISA card when shopping online with participating stores. Even if you don't use your VISA card to shop online, Verified by VISA also offers you greater protection against unauthorised use of your VISA card if it is lost or stolen.

How does it work?

You can register your existing Nurses First VISA debit card or Easypay VISA credit card for the service. If you don’t have a Nurses First VISA card and would like to apply for one, call us on 13 25 77 or see our Credit Cards page.

To register your card, follow the instructions below, which will guide you through the process of registering your card and how to get your secure password and Personal Assurance Message (PAM).

Once registered, every time you shop online with a participating Verified by VISA store you will be shown your PAM and asked to enter your password. The appearance of your PAM confirms that your transaction is being authenticated by Nurses First. By entering your password, you are confirming that you are the authorised cardholder.

Once your password is checked, your identity will be verified. The transaction will be completed as normal and you will have the peace of mind of knowing that your transaction has been secure.

It’s that easy.

Please note that not all online stores currently have a Verified by VISA program in place. Of course, you can continue to shop online at these stores with your VISA card.

How can I register?

To register for Verified by VISA, you will need the following:

  • Your existing Nurses First VISA debit card or Easypay VISA credit card
  • Your Verified by VISA member registration number, which you will receive in the mail with your statement. If you haven’t received your number, or if you have misplaced it, please contact us on 13 25 77.

When you have your VISA card and member registration number at hand, follow the link below to the Verified by VISA registration site go to the following website and follow the instructions. The process is easy and as soon as you are done you can begin to shop online with confidence!

Can I register with my existing Nurses First VISA card or do I need to apply for a new one?

You can register your existing Nurses First VISA card to be protected by Verified by VISA.- you don't need to get a new card.

How do I register my VISA card?

  1. Have your Verified by VISA member registration number and your Nurses First VISA debit card or Easypay VISA credit card in front of you. (If you haven’t received your number by mail, or if you have misplaced it, please contact us on 13 25 77).
  2. When you have your card and member registration number at hand, go to the Verified by VISA registration page.  
  3. Follow the instructions.

I have more than one VISA card on my account. How does Verified by VISA work for additional cards?

Verified by VISA will still work for all the VISA cards on your account – simply register to create a password and Personal Assurance Message (PAM) for each one. Please note that once a Nurses First VISA account is registered with Verified by VISA, all cardholders will need to register to create their own password and PAM before shopping at participating online stores.

After I register, how long does it take for Verified by VISA to start working?

Verified by VISA is available as soon as your registration is confirmed.

Do I need any special equipment or software on my computer?

All you need is an Internet connection and Internet Explorer, Netscape or AOL browser software version 4.0 or above. To find out if your browser is compatible, go to the “Help” menu on your browser’s home page and select the “About” option. It should tell you which version is installed on your computer.

What is a Personal Assurance Message?

When you register for Verified by VISA, you will be asked to create a Personal Assurance Message (PAM). When you pay online, a pop up screen showing this message is your assurance that your password is being verified.

How will the online store know that I have Verified by VISA?

Participating online stores will automatically recognise your VISA card number if it is registered.

What if I forget my password?

If you forget your password you should contact us on 13 25 77.

If I suspect someone has stolen my password or used it to make fraudulent purchases, what should I do?

Contact Nurses First immediately.

What should I do if I am shopping online and I don’t get asked for my Verified by VISA password?

Simply enter your payment details as normal and complete your transaction.  It may mean that the store is not yet enrolled in the Verified by VISA service.  However most online stores have the service available to them.

The Verified by VISA registration site won't accept my VISA card details.
