VISA payWave is the latest payment technology that lets you pay faster, with less hassle.

The technology built into your card allows you to pay instantly by waving your card over a secure contactless terminal in stores.

There’s no swiping, signing or fumbling for cash. You’re ready to go in just seconds.

Step 1

Look for the contactless symbol at the point of sale.

Step 2

The cashier enters the purchase amount into the terminal. The amount is displayed on the VISA payWave reader.

Step 3

When the first green light blinks, hold your card over the reader at close range (less than 5 centimetres away)

Step 4

Four green lights appear when the transaction is complete. This takes no longer than half a second. You can choose to have a receipt printed, but this is optional. No signature or PIN is required.

You can Wave & Go when you make purchases up to $100. And don’t worry, you can still use your card for purchases over $100, you just need to enter your PIN or sign.

Where can I use Wave & Go?

You can use your new VISA payWave card at Coles, McDonalds, Blockbuster, JB Hi-fi, Bunnings, IGA and a range of other Australian retailers. More retailers are getting Wave & Go technology every single day.

Plus, VISA payWave also works at Mastercard paypass locations in the same way as you would use a payWave machine.

In fact, VISA payWave is accepted at more than 174,000 retail locations in 31 countries – so you can Wave & Go right around the globe.
