Nurses First was established in April 2003 to serve the nursing community in Victoria. Nurses First provides competitive products and friendly service, offering a banking alternative where Nurses really do come first.
At the same time we are regularly improving and expanding our product range and promoting technology for the benefit of our members. As part of our continuous improvement we regularly conduct research into member satisfaction so that your feedback plays an important role in the development of new products and services.
The origins of Nurses First lie with another Credit Society dedicated to servicing the nursing community. Nurses First is a division of Police & Nurses Credit Society, a Western Australian based Credit Society that is committed to helping nurses, police officers and the general public. Police & Nurses was created in 1990 following the merger of the Western Australian Nurses Credit Society Ltd and the Police Credit Society of Western Australia Ltd.
You can be assured that our aspirations come not through want of profits at the expense of service - as a mutual our profits are reinvested back into the Society. This enables us to focus solely on helping our members achieve their personal and professional goals and reward them in the form of constantly improving banking solutions, consistently low fees and a strong commitment to service. Our goal is to always put our members first. We treat each and every member like an individual, not a number.
Only members who do their banking business with us can own a share in Police & Nurses. Being a member with a share in Police & Nurses allows you to be an active participant in the future direction and growth of our business. Members with a share are entitled to vote on the composition of our Board of Directors and attend Annual General Meetings.
In May 2007 and 2008, Police & Nurses Credit Society was proud to be named the Best Credit Society in Australia by the Australian Banking and Finance Magazine. Considering there are over 100 credit societies and credit unions in Australia, we're proud of this achievement.
And in a recent survey of our members we scored a 97% member satisfaction rating, just reinforcing our member first philosophy.
